Where is University Downtown located?

We have two locations in the heart of Durham — 8 Jenkins Court and 9 Madbury Road.  Our leasing office is located at the 9 Madbury Road location.

When is the leasing office open?
The leasing office is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We have a 24 hour emergency line for residents!
What about long term parking?

We don’t offer parking but there are many lots nearby. We can help navigate that for you! We have connections in the Durham parking business! We will send detailed info when you make an official inquiry. 

Do you allow pets?

What is an individual lease?

An individual lease is a per-bedroom lease. All bedrooms are single occupancy. You sign a lease for a bedroom in the apartment and share common areas with roommates. This allows you to live with roommates without having to worry about whether they’re going to pay on time.

What is the process to match roommates?

Most people come to us with their roommates already selected. If you’re looking for a roommate, our manager Liz will work closely with you to assist in matching you with others seeking a roommate. But you may have to wait until all the full groups choose their floorplans. 

Do you have an on-site laundry facility?
Yes, each building has several sets of washers and dryers to eliminate waiting for machines! We recently reduced our pricing to $1.00 for a wash load and $.50 per dryer cycle.
Do you have a maintenance staff?
Yes, we have an excellent, highly responsive maintenance staff on-site during office hours, as well as 24-hour emergency maintenance service.
What are the fees and security deposit?

There is a $200 admin fee due at lease signing, then a $300 security deposit due on March 15. It can be paid on our portal or by check made out to University Downtown.

How do I pay rent?

You can pay on your online portal (preferred) or by paper check mailed to our office. Look in the upper right hand corner of this page where it says Tenant Log In.

When is rent due?
We take the “last month’s installment of rent” in advance – on May 15 (30 days before the move-in date of June 15). Then monthly payments are paid from June 15 to April 15. Financial Aid students may request a special payment schedule.
How do I apply for an apartment?
You can easily complete the entire leasing process online. First let the manager know you are ready to apply. We will send you a link to your application. Then you can also sign your lease and pay the security deposit online! Easy as 1-2-3!
